Potassium dihydrogen phosphate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula KH2PO4. It has deliquescence and melts into a transparent liquid when heated to 400 ºC. After cooling, it solidifies into an opaque glassy potassium metaphosphate. Stable in air, soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol. In industry, it is used as a buffer and culture agent, as well as a seasoning for synthesizing sake as a bacterial culture agent. It is also used as a raw material for producing potassium metaphosphate, a culture agent, fortifier, leavening agent, and fermentation aid for brewing yeast. In agriculture, it is used as an efficient phosphate potassium compound fertilizer.
